What's Outside My Window
From my kitchen window looking to the front of the house:
Part of our front flower bed. Colours of purple and yellow are on show in the summer.
A fence. This was only put up about 5 years ago. Before that we had a high hedge which was always a wonderful shelter for many birds. Unfortunately we had a subsidence problem and 2/3 of the hedge had to be removed. Fewer birds now for us to look at.
The road. In and out of the village. Used as a bit of a rat run early morning and evening. But the rest of the time it is very quiet.
Neighbours. 1 To the left a large iron gate with pillars with big concrete balls on. A wonderful landmark to direct visitors.
2. A rather overgrown hedge. These neighbours and their little girl moved in a few years back and knocked down the old house to build a new lovely home. The garden is being beautifully landscaped but the hedge and drive will be last and it's taking a lot longer than our young neighbours thought!
