Homage to Joan Eardley
This is Catterline on the east coast of Scotland. I have wanted to visit for years as the artist Joan Eardley lived here and painted many landscapes band seascapes around the village. She also painted children in the east end of Glasgow. Her work is very distinctive.
We crossed the Firth of Forth and Firth of Tay. We'd hoped to visit the Discovery in Dundee but were short of time so continued on up the coast to Catterline where we had a clifftop walk. We also walked down to the jetty to see if we could park the van. However the few places were taken up with vans unloading canoes.
Now we have found a place by Dunnotter Castle overlooking the sea. We'll stay here for the night I think.
