The Pansy Posse

Dear Diary,

Our merriment continued with a lovely luncheon to celebrate Chicky's birthday, which is actually today but a three day party is fine with us!  My pansies are enjoying a bit of sun and the rock wall made a perfect location to gather.  Later, cake and ice cream and songs rounded out the day.

There is a tradition in our family of writing songs to celebrate an occasion and of course we had a wonderful one composed by Barbara, who plays the guitar as well.  There was more laughter and a lot of tears as well as we celebrated the 80th birthday of our dear friend.

Mary and I will leave this morning to drive to Massachusetts to plant the cemetery with those beautiful pansies.  There may be a tear or two there as well.
