Secret Ambitions
I asked a man, once, "what do you want to be when you grow up?"
"An Elf", he said plainly, as if it were a common occupation. "An odd ambition", thought I.

A man once told another man of his long standing ambition to have a pole. A tall pole, where the eagle he owned could be placed at the very top; where the flag under which he served could fly.
This second man did not know, no, was not aware, that he spoke with another whose long established ambition it was, to be an elf when he was grown.

There are times, when least expected, that our very own ambitions are realized, as we open our hearts to those who hold secret ambitions, and who are, in fact, at that very moment, on the verge of growing up.
