A Favourite from Younger Days: Outer Hope
The two baylets Inner Hope and Outer Hope form Hope Cove, a quiet little fishing village when I first visited in 1964, and it really hasn't changed all that much over the years, for which I am grateful.
Even the old Hope and Anchor Pub is still serving what I could see where huge meals outside in the sunshine.
Ah yes, I remember them well, and my old pal Paul fell asleep on the clifftop while we went swimming and managed to get half his face burnt bright Red as he was lying on his side!
He did see the Funny side to be fair!
Happy Days and Happy memories.
Last year we sat on the Harbour side and a young woman walked up with a punnet of Strawberries. "I bought a huge amount at a pick your own and we can't eat any more, would you like them?"
And she wouldn't let us pay for them....
Summer, sunshine Free sweet Strawberries (we had an ice cream too!)
This Retirement thing is a tough job, but as John Waynne used to say
"Someone's Gotta do it!"
What more can you ask for than little hideaway places miles from the main road down really narrow lanes ?.
The adventure of driving to them prevents crowds descending on them!
This is our last Day in Devon, we are moving 85 miles west into Cornwall tomorrow to Marazion (Near Penzance) see you there!
