These Denizens of the Deep are residents of our pond. Here they are patiently waiting for me to toss them some fishy food pellets. As for how large they are, let's just say 'Pan Sized' at 10-12 inches long. The dark one is a native Spotted Sunfish and the golden is a goldfish that I rescued from being dumped into a lake when it's aquarium home was taken down. It was probably six or so years old when I got it and that was five years ago. These two live peacefully with two other Spotted Sunfish, a whole big bunch of small native Gambusia or Mosquito Fish and of course...numerous frogs and toads. I seldom see photos of Fish on Blip and that's sad because they are noble creatures.
