Shepherd at work

Most of today was dedicated to getting the ferry across to Port Appin to lunch at the Pierhouse Hotel. And excellent it was too. But we did take a potter first thing this morning along the shore away from Port Ramsay. We came across a couple of men, one on a quad bike, who were bringing the sheep together, with the assistance of a couple of dogs. This was after some sheep that had initially been on the promontory on which he then parked his bike. When he reversed off there a few minutes later, with the dog on the bike, the dog looked pretty unhappy about dad's driving skills. I also took a walk across to the tidal island.

We did receive a bit of the expected rain today, but by no means as much as we might have done. Nothing to recharge the underground acquifers which are running short. By late this afternoon, the forecast for tomorrow had resolved itself to sun and cloud. So hopefully we'll get a good walk in.
