All in a day's work!
Went to London with friends to see the Olympic Victory Parade. Awe inspiring and very moving (literally!). This was Clare Balding trying to do a broadcast on a float travelling through The Strand surrounded by waving flags, yelling onlookers and wonderful chaos.
I was outside The Strand Palace Hotel where I spent my honeymoon in 1960, gave me a weird feeling. We always said we would go back there on an anniversary but never made it.
The parade was fantastic. We had had a gorgeous brunch beforehand and then went to Covent Garden to have a glass of wine and cheer as the Red Arrows flew overhead. Our excuse was we would miss the rush to the trains! A very memorable day with incredibly happy crowds everywhere.
