Patrona Bavariae...

.... rather unexpectedly I came across this event at Marienplatz - the central place in Munich (from the top of the column in the middle - the Virgin Mary as the Queen of Heaven - all the distances to and from Munich are taken..). Apparently 100 years ago the Virgin Mary was officially appointed to be the patroness of Bavaria ....... after having played that role over several centuries already.........
