The Crystal Maze

A polished ammonite in early Jurassic blue lias rock from Lyme Regis, Dorset.

This fossil dates from about 190 million years ago give or take 10 or so million! I love the way the centre of the fossil is crystalised and the beautiful shape of these pre-historic sea creatures.
