A glorious day for a scamper* up to the Waterloo monument above New Abbey, a short but steep clamber rewards with the most beautiful views across the Solway firth to the Cumbrian hills.

* slo-mo, a cheese toastie was maybe no the best prep.

Shame that was a weed not a thistle!
