Party Politics

Several people in this blip are well known in Stroud. I had a great opportunity to find out more about the candidates who are standing in the forthcoming snap election.

I stood right at the back near the Green Candidate who was going to speak last. Infront of me is the ex-mayor (Green Party) who is laughing at something that has just been said. The man with the checked shirt to the left of the photo owns Stroud Brewery and hosted this event. Standing next to him is the Conservative candidate who has been the local MP for the past few years. Standing to the far right of the picture, facing me, is the Labour Party candidate (also an ex-MP) who has come out of retirement to run for election. I haven't managed to capture a shot of the Liberal Democrat candidate as he was surrounded by a few of his supporters. All the candidates took questions from the audience and sometimes there was passionate heckling from certain people. The most disappointing thing was how few people turned up to what was a very well organised event.
