Crathes Castle, Banchory
Looks like this might be the last good day for a while, so we decided to visit Royal Deeside and Crathes Castle near Banchory, just outside of Aberdeen. A lovely drive through Glenshee, where we stopped for a picnic lunch at the pack bridge, then on past castles at Braemar, Invercauld, Craigievar and Balmoral, plus Abergeldie which so nearly ended up in the River Dee during the floods last year, to name but a few, until we reached the one at Crathes.
TJ was convinced we hadn't visited before, but I knew we had and even remembered where I'd taken previous photos! I think photographers do remember more detail about an area than mere onlookers:-) A few more views in Extras.
A lovely drive home via almost deserted roads and with the sun low in the sky, so we were able to stop on the road to get more shots - not something you can usually do on the A93.
