I’m staying on Ìle/Islay tonight, across the road from the Lagavulin Distillery, just outside Port Ìlein/Port Ellen.
It was over 3 hours in the car to get to the ferry - even with the roads being quiet early on a Sunday. I left home just after 8am. Then almost 2 hours on the ferry. Lastly a 35 minute drive from the ferry terminal at Port Asgaig/Port Askaig.
I think I’ll sleep well tonight.
Like most of the islands, it is very photogenic. Blips around every corner. It helps when the weather is bright.
With the island being so famous for its whisky, I chose the Bowmore Distillery for the Blip. Extras are the hills of neighbouring Jura, caught in the evening sun, and the church in Bogh Mór/Bowmore.
