Male Downy Woodpecker

I added a flat stick to the bottom of my suet feeder for the Flickers long body and tail, but this Downy seemed to like it too. I liked this photo because it shows the way the woodpecker is gripping the stick.

We had a wonderful gathering at our house for Mother's Day today. All of our kids were here, but not one of their spouses. One had to work and one was at the beach for a Moms Get Away weekend.....and the last one is no longer living at home. It was nice having the "kids" all to ourselves. We had a really wonderful visit.......oh yes, the grandkids were here too. They were either watching the basketball game or on their phones.  Hope all the Mothers out in USA Blipland had a wonderful Mother's Day.
