The Garvellachs
We passed many sea kayakers driving south as we drove north at the end of last week. They will have had fine weather but we had a changeable forecast; OK for the weekend but kicking off on Monday.
We got to Eileach an Naoimh Saturday afternoon and camped amongst the remains of the monastery founded by St Brendan The Navigator, a 6th century kayaker. That's the Paps of Jura in the distance.
Sunday was very pleasant as we visited Lunga and passed, undramatically, through the Grey Dogs, to Shuna Sound and camped by the Cuan Sound (flowing like a river).
As promised, the wind was a fresh 4 - 6 Monday morning but the southeasterly blew us rapidly back to Easdale and security!
