Double digit birthday

Well my baby girl is growing up and she has had a lovely​ day. I did think maybe she would be less excited but when she was up and dressed before 7am, I knew that wasn't the case!

Bacon sarnie for breakfast, parcels and cards to open. Books, ballet ticket for the Opera House, Ballet Boost bag to name some of the things she was lucky enough to receive. When she opened our card and read the letter you could see the excitement bubbling as she realised were are going to Chessington instead of a birthday party this year. The letter explained what Chessington was, but an older friend was very excited for her at dancing tonight and possibly gave her a better explanation.

She came out of school with three stickers and a present from her oldest friend. That I thought was lovely because they are not besties anymore, but they are and hopefully will always be friends.

There was a contemporary taster class at the ballet school tonight and Carys chose to go to that over a meal out. So we dropped her there and then W and I took her birthday cake to Prezzo where we were eating later, unknown to Carys. He then went to tennis. I collected C, got a huge hug when I said we were eating out, got her changed and met N&P at Prezzo. Jim collected W and then came on to the restaurant. She has had a lovely day.

So at ten my baby girl is a Grade 4 ballerina in Russian Ballet, is in the school Youth Company, also does the grade five class. She auditioned successfully for an associate programme called Ballet Boost. She is on the waiting list for the Royal Ballet Summer School and has an associate audition with the Royal Ballet School in a couple of weeks. She is a complete bookworm and loves all things​ Harry Potter. She has represented the School at Cross Country, Netball, Lacrosse and Indoor Athletics. But more importantly she is loving, kind and generous. She has a lovely sense of empathy and gets very indignant at any type of injustice. She is aware that there are many different people in the world, she makes allowances for those who she recognises as needing those allowances and is always ready to help them and support them, particularly in school. I couldn't be more proud of the young lady she is growing into and I am very much looking forward to seeing what this next year brings her.
