Just When You Think You've Seen It All

So this was actually taken Sunday evening and I just got around to posting it now.

We are both actually still recovering because this was one of the most odd and bizarre (and we've seen plenty) situations we have ever witnessed at The Marshwalk.

Mrs. ATB and I were sitting in our usual spot near The Mullet Hut when I happened to notice a guy lean over the wood railing and carefully drop a beer can (Coors Light) straight down into the water.

I had to walk over to see what that was about and as I approach, all I see at first was a hand holding the beer just above the water.
Then I see a guy's head the view of which at first was blocked by a small boat.
That was all you could see, the rest of the guy was under water.

As you might expect, this quickly began to attract a crowd.

Well the story eventually begins to come out that the guy dropped his car keys and sunglasses into the water and was attempting to retrieve them.

The funny part was that the guy apparently felt a beer would go good right about now and found someone to fetch him one.

The other problem with the whole rescue mission was that due to the recent dredging, the water there is now six feet deeper then previously.

The outcome of the key and sunglasses rescue remained unclear as the evening progressed, but we did see the guy eventually come out of the water and head toward one of the parking areas, so who knows? Maybe he did find his keys.

So now we have another great story to add to the continuing Marshwalk lore. :-)
