Break In!

Dear Diary,

While the cat's away...the squirrels will break into the shed that houses the sunflower seeds!  What a mess!  The were able to get the door open and they rummaged through everything but they were not able to get the lid off the can which has a handle that locks it in place.  I can't say I blame them.  Four days without sunflower seeds is a long time.

I think the culprit was Gaylord or one of the other greys.  The teeth marks look too big for Rudy.  Oh well, another chore for Greg to deal with.  He got the outside faucet replaced and the water turned on but the sink has a leaky drain hose so more work will need to be done.

We are in for a stretch of sunny, warm weather this week and that will be a relief.  We've had enough rain but that will bring out the dreaded black flies, my least favorite time of the year.  Thankfully, it doesn't last very long and their numbers have been down in recent years so, fingers crossed!
