To the right of this bird is a hanging feeder containing sugar syrup - a liquid loved by these native nectar-loving birds.

Tui are unique (endemic) to New Zealand and belong to the honeyeater family, which means they feed mainly on nectar from flowers of native plants. Check this Doc.govt.nz website to read about these birds in detail.
