Going Batty

I completely forgot these were being delivered tonight... Got home at a reasonable time, despite being in the car and it taking around half an hour to get out of Edinburgh Park. The bypass was busy, but moving, and the wee car got a big thumbs up and wave from two separate motorcyclists who passed me. Home, grab the old big lens which was sold on eBay, and round to the post office, then got chatting to an old bloke about the wee car, back home and there's a black van half-blocking our drive.

Turns out it was Liz from Greenwoods Ecohabitats, who has made these bat boxes that we're going to put up in the Figgate. She was originally going to be coming up tomorrow, but plans changed. They're made from recycled polystyrene and cement, and other stuff like old wood, which then goes through the concreting process. They look fab (of course after posting about them on the Figgate Friends FB page someone had a 'think of the children' moment suggesting they may fall out of the trees and onto their heads; but on the flipside someone from the Lothian Bat Group got in touch, and we might get the bats in the park surveyed).
