Clif Bar Swag

I backblipped. Blink and you'll miss it!

Clif Bars are a brand of energy bars. They had a twitter "contest," asking bike commuters to tweet a picture of their commute. This was around the time I was on Jury Duty. Well sometimes I get lucky, and I ended up winning a commuter pack, which arrived in the mail today!

Included inside were 4 Clif Bars, a set of tire levers, a postcard with the company staff encouraging me to keep on keeping on, a really cute cap, and 2 nylon seat covers (to keep the bike seat drier when parked in the rain). Adorable.

As a side note, Clif Bars markets themselves as being a company that tries to be good for people and the environment (since people would be, presumedly, using energy bars when they're off doing physical outdoorsy stuff), including a $500 employee stipend to purchase a bike to commute with, carbon offsetting, and the like. All of this is well and good, but it was nice to see the words and deeds come together with the hat they gave - the hat is made by an eco-conscious company, using recycled plastic for the hat and organic cotton. Small bits, but clearly they're walking the walk, not just making pretty words.

We'll be bringing some of these Clif Bars when we bike out to my brother's open house this coming weekend - it's about 20 miles each way.
