A dull photo...

...that solves a mystery.

I was just waking at 6am this morning when there was a loud crack followed instantly by one of our car alarms going off. First reaction was that someone was breaking in so I rushed downstairs to investigate. I got out on the drive to find nothing amiss, no broken windows, nothing had been blown into the car by the wind, all very puzzling.

It was only later when I was bringing the bin in that I thought the car looked a bit uneven, as if it was parked half on the kerb. Closer inspection revealed that the front off-side coil spring has failed. You can see the difference in the extra photo. Thank goodness no one was driving it at the time but how very odd for it to just fail like that and with enough of a jolt to set the alarm off.

I expect the bill will be large!
