Potsdamer Platz
This photo shows Potsdamer Platz with its replica of the first electrically operated traffic lights in Germany. It came into operation in the year 1924 on Potsdamer Platz - then the busiest place in the city. Before that policemen had directed all vehicles by hand signs, but this didn't work any longer. So Siemens company designed and constructed the new appliance which replaced the policemen.
