The One Place Where There Are No Other Pheasants
Our little village is in the middle of a large farming estate surrounded by fields and woods, which is for the most part pretty idyllic.
One of the big money earners for the estate is game bird shooting and as a result we are surrounded by hundreds of pheasants...they come into the garden, they are constantly in the roads and they are generally a bit of a pain.
I have on good authority (local blipper Jankerman) that as is common practice, these white pheasants have been bred and are released specifically to allow the game keepers to spot groups of birds more easily for the hunters to find them.
I find it quite amusing that this chap seems to have outsmarted our local gamekeepers then, as he has set up home on our village green, the one place where there are no other pheasants to be found!
