Time to go out with the red bags again and smile sweetly at people as, rather than saying no thank you, tell you amazing stories about why they don't want to donate, which is fine.
Then there are those who tell you their life stories as they fill the little red envelope for you
I done mind either way, it's nice to get the chance to knock on people's doors and say hallo with a smile.
I do think it's a shame though that people with "No cold calling" signs are also excluded from charitable collections it hasn't really occurred to me that they were included although I do recognise the importance of being able to stop unauthorised and sometimes dishonest doorstep selling.
Cleo likes to help on such occasions, but I'm not sure she'll be a welcome additional load as I walk around my area to give out the envelopes. I would be risking my life every time I put in my hand to take an envelope out!
