What a mill!
What a mill - water mill!
See what I did there?? [groan]
The first record of a mill on this spot is in the Domesday Book, since then there have been significant rebuilds in the 17th and 19th century. Originally run by monks, before more notable miller's like Potto Brown took over the running. The mill was de-commissioned in the 1930s and used as a youth hostel for a while before being bought by the residents of the village and turned over to the National Trust.
