Beautiful...
I love these yellow poppies. They are the result of wind blown seeds or bird droppings and the are one of the prettiest 'wild' flowers in the garden.
My Nikon cameras struggled with yellows and seemed to find it hard to focus on an edge and give depth. I've changed now to Sony units and the difference suits what I'm after. Of course it could be me and my unsympathetic settings on the D7100 but this shot was taken with very similar settings on a Sony 7R and I'm quite pleased with it.
I'm not a knowledgeable camera user when it comes to a lot of the technical stuff, I don't use many different settings nor do I have many 'clever' skills. I see a shot and I take the pic. I find that careful cropping often gives me an opportunity to improve the composition. I don't do a lot of over processing although Color Efex Pro4 comes in useful sometimes. My main tools are Photoshop CS5 and auto colour, unsharp mask, and reduce noise filters. To rescue some shots I dabble in Shadow & Highlights, and vibrance. I never shoot raw and I rarely use HDR.
Just in case anyone finds this sort of stuff interesting.
I'm pleased yesterday's Blip kept some of you amused. I'll recover from the cruel jibes about my affliction. (sniff, sniff)
