Auchindoun Castle....

on a beautiful morning. It's a 15th century building but stands on a hilltop that was once an Iron Age fort, hence the name from the Gaelic , Field of the Dun or Fort. We had a lovely walk in hot sun, lunch at the inn and watched a Cuckoo being chased by a Meadow Pipit. It didn't stop it continuing to drop to the ground and lay in two nests as we watched.
