I have been reading about the beautiful lighting you can obtain by just sticking a bit of black foamie thing onto your flashgun. Probably not a terribly good idea to try things out prior to a major assignment, but I thought I'll do some experiments to see if it really makes a difference. Which meant wandering around Edinburgh looking for shops that sell black foamie things.

I noticed this subject as she was walking towards me with her stand-out yellow fedora hat. She's obviously practised her posing before, so I just snapped away and let her take care of the creative aspects of the shoot.

Oh, and that black foam thing has thus-far failed to make much of a difference.
