Blooming September

There are more flowers in bloom in the garden than there have been all summer.Instead of having one large head on them these sunflowers have lots of smaller ones but are very bright. They grow mightily tall.

It was a catching-up-in-the-house day today. I also varnished a new wooden kitchen unit that has just been put in. (That's something else that was going on yesterday!) I'm using a water based varnish. It feels more eco-friendly, but am not sure whether it really is. Most of the wood in the house is oiled and waxed but I felt it would be better to have a more water resistant finish for the kitchen. It looks great. I might even blip it when it's completed.
