Acoustic
Tonight at the Royal Concert Hall to see Simple Minds on their Acoustic tour, presenting different interpretations of many of their hits.
Stripped back, the songs are still as strong as the more familiar versions.
A different venue too; they’re more familiar with arenas (and stadiums in their heyday). But they just owned the place – the hometown audience lapped it up, and you could tell the band were enjoying it too.
Lead singer Jim Kerr had a novel suggestion for a possible use for their chandelier when the tour finishes in a few weeks’ time: he suggested donating it to Glasgow so that it could be hung from the Finnieston Crane, making us the first city to have a chandelier hanging over it!
