Holly Near Concert

She performed at the Old Church, an entertainment venue now, built in 1882. Holly Near (a singer songwriter with a political consciousness) has been singing about social justice since the seventies, and tonight she lifted her clear voice once again.  It felt a bit like a reunion, as so many of my friends from those days were in the audience. Her work was inspirational for many of us beginning to organize and work for our civil rights as lesbian, gay and bisexual people in those days. For the right to keep our children, retain our jobs, and live with dignity.
