Quarry Bank Mill
Quarry Bank Mill is a cotton mill on the banks of the River Bollin near Styal, and 4.5 miles from where I live. The oldest parts of the mill date back to 1784.
It now belongs to the National Trust and I visit every now and again because they have been gradually restoring the upper part of the garden, and there is always something new to see.
The main photo is the glass house which was renovated over last winter. The first extra shot is what it looked like 5 years ago.
The other two extra shots are the mill itself, which does contain fully functional machinery, and the gardens, which are rather stunning at this time of year.
