Baby Blue
Jazzy and I went for a walk in the rain this morning and found another blue tits' nest. I photographed the poor, soaked, bedraggled parents back and forth.
When I got home this evening I thought I'd have another go as the light was marginally better. The cheeping noise was coming from all directions, not just the tree trunk nest site.. The young birds had fledged while I was out. My pic is of a rather bewildered-looking youngster.
Today's poem is To Whom It May Concern by Andrew Motion. http://bak.spc.org/ice/vaughan.html
Andrew Motion says he wrote this without much clue about what he was trying to say. In retrospect he says it's about how poetry works. "Big horrors can be suggested by small next-to-nothings."
