Orchids

We awoke yesterday to an extremely wet Chiang Mai.  It had rained during the night and at 2am torrential rain hit.  Parts of the city were under a metre of water.  Houses were flooded.  Although it didn't rain during the day getting out was difficult due to so many roads being flooded, the drains couldn't cope with the deluge and the river was over flowing.  By the evening things were starting to improve but we still stayed close to home. These beautiful orchids are  at the little cafe over the road from us.
