One of my favorites now..

..is the Bushtit. I think this is a juvenal. He is so sweet. Found out that the males have dark eyes and the females have green eyes. Interesting, no? This one was on the arm of the feeder and there were many of his flock at the suet. Soft chirping was going on as they keep track of one another. Then a different sound was made, an alarm of some sort I guess, as everybody dove for cover in the shrubs. Except for this guy. Guess he didn't hear the message. He sat there, looking around, chirping softly as if to say, "Hey, where did everyone go?" He just sat there and pretty soon, everybody went back to the suet. Cute to watch that.

A quiet day. Actually cooked something in the slow cooker...a sweet and sour dish. Pretty good.
