Bridge of Spies

This bridge forms the border between Brandenburg to the left and Berlin to the right ( today). Up to 1989 the middle of the bridge and the middle of the river Havel formed the strictly closed borders between the socialist system of East Germany and the democratic West Germany. The bridge became famous as the bridge of spies because it was several times used to exchange spies of and for the two political systems. Exact place of the exchange was the middle of the bridge. The first of these exchanges was model of the film 'Bridge of Spies', 2015.
