In my element

Started the day with my 'new' walking habit on a crisp morning. Besides freezing my bits off, I enjoyed the fact the crazy winds have finally calmed down. Even got the camera out as I spotted 2 Pukeko's in the paddock. I was under the understanding that they were NZ natives but apparently they aren't. Well, the funny looking blue and black birds that do this little tail whip move as they walk are my favourite!

The day turned out a beauty but the slight breeze was still goosebumpily chilling. Our older children got a real treat with setting up a real camp fire in the sandpit. Toasting marshmallows! The smell of the fire, the amazing facial expressions, and a moment of pure pleasure with one of the elements.
