Barcelona Cathedral

It was an early start to the day with a flight at 6.45.  However, having checked in the luggage the night before and staying on site it really was only a few steps from the hotel reception straight into security - about as painless as it can get.  Even security was very efficient and seems to have upped its game from the former mayhem and queues.

The flight was a little late taking off but all was smooth - in fact, I think I was dozing for most of it!  We found our hotel which is OK and very convenient for a metro station.  So after sorting ourselves out in the room, we headed off into the city.  We looked around the Cathedral which is magnificent and we were able to go up on the roof for good city views (extra). We also looked around the port at the huge yachts berthed there and wound our way through some of the streets to see what was there.

Tomorrow we have tickets for the famous Segrada Familia which will be very interesting.
