Scouting the Swamp

We haven't had any rain for so long now our local swamp is dry.

I did a little trespassing today (much to the mozzies delight) underneath the fence (nearly tore my new pants) to find this little Oasis of water........if it doesn't rain soon that will be gone within a week.

I love the swamp...its full of unusual shapes and color......dead trees with their bone dry branches sit in the middle of a desert of dry cracked earth....which once looked like a lake.

I think I need to come back here..........I scouted it out today and caught this guy having a snack........he was rather cute so I had to blip him.
