Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown

Cooler today and a more leisurely start.

Visited two living history museums and drove between the two on the Colonial Highway which runs along the coast and between the two with great views over the York and James Rivers.

Wildlife sightings include Squirrels, Deer, Bald Eagles and Buzzards plus the Virginia State bird the Red Cardinal. The Red Cardinal is very red indeed, don't think I've seen such a brightly coloured bird in the wild before. Too quick to catch a photo of on my phone but managed to get a couple on my camera.

These are replicas of the ships that sailed from England, The Susan Constant, Godspeed and Sea Venture. Very cramped conditions for 4 months at sea!

Extras are museum folk demonstrating muskets and cannons.....very loud indeed!

Back to the Motel via Walmart for supplies, including a swimming costume for Sarah so we could make use of the Motel pool!

4.5 miles walked
