Cottage at Loweswater
If this cottage was turned 90 degrees clockwise, it would be facing Rannerdale Knotts with Great Gable in the distance (to the right and behind). When it was built, I suspect that greater consideration was given to the prevailing weather than the fabulous views. The end wall would take the brunt of the wind and rain, thus sparing casement windows from draughts and leaks. View or no view, this cottage has a heavenly location.
