More Floods

This is about the time of year that the flooding started last year. Luckily this time they say that it shouldn't be as bad. This week the flooding was in a few provinces north of Bangkok.

Today we read a newspaper article in my Thai language class that said a power outage, caused by heavy rain, made it impossible to open the flood canal gates. Within 30 minutes some homes were flooded, but now that the power is on and the gates have been opened, the water is already receding.

I am grateful that I was not there in person to capture this woman and her dog (or a lucky stray dog) floating on their couch down the road. (Although it would have made a good blip for sure...if I had power to post it.)
