Frog!

Sunday
Another overcast rather "heavy" sort of a day, with a little clearing in the afternoon, but for a change it remained dry. In the afternoon we went walking at Rowe Woods, not the best choice, as it was rather muddy in places. However, the ponds were quite busy with turtles and frogs, providing me with several photographs. The frogs tended to be very skittish, and jumped into the water when they sensed your presence, and they were sometimes quite difficult to see amidst all the duckweed. This one, however, was in a small patch of clearer water, and more obliging, staying still long enough for me to get a photograph!
After an early bite to eat, we were off again, for another concert in the May Festival series, this one at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, across the river in Kentucky. It's a beautiful building inspired by Notre Dame in Paris. We got there nice and early, since it wasn't assigned seating, but unfortunately we weren't really early enough, as we still had to sit at the side, with a pillar partially blocking our view. This evening's concert was shorter than Friday's, and featured the May Festival chamber choir and the May Festival Youth choir, and included works by Bach, Brahms, Palestrina and Mendelssohn.
