Fear and Loathing

What do you do with a day in Vegas? (see ... I've already dropped the 'Las', such in my familiarity with the place in my head). This was where Hunter Thompson, in the early seventies, said that he looked West, and could make out the high-water mark of the sixties counter-cultural movement which had originated in San Francisco. He could see that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.
It's certainly not on paper the most comfortable place for pseudo-leftist liberal-leaning counter-cultural MrP. And not only not on paper, no, not on an iPad either. Still, you've got to be adaptable or you'll become a dinosaur. And look, doesn't this peaked cap with Coca Cola on it actually look pretty cool? And baked potato with all the fillings please, yes and a large beer, thanks. It was hot! Even under my new peaked cap.
So, later, a show had to be seen. It's what you do, apparently. And the top show for the last three years has been Donny and Marie Osmond.... But by the toss of a coin we decided instead to see Love - a Cirque du Soleil show based around the Beatles. And I've got to say it was pretty excellent. At the risk of sounding like an old fart, what an amazingly talented set of young dancers, actors and acrobats. Parp!
