Polly's Pictures

All went well.

Managed to go to the crematorium for the service and then scooted back with my friend in time to put the kettles on for tea.  All very successful and most people sat in the garden as such a glorious day.  The service was at 1.15 and everyone left about 6pm.
The widow is German and she wasn't expecting anyone to come from Germany, but a nephew turned up to surprise her.  We then had great fun trying to print off his boarding pass for his return journey early tomorrow morning as the travel agency had not advised him that he needed to do this before he left. He spoke a little English and my German is nil but between us (and him making phone calls to Germany for advice) we managed it and I was given a big hug!
The dishwasher has been going full pelt and the ladies who lunch tomorrow will be eating some left over pork pies with their salad and I am hoping they will finish off the huge fresh cream large Victoria sponge.
