Another bit of...
... Harrogate local history.
It has been a few weeks since I last produced one of my historical comparison shots, using a photo from the Library archives and comparing it with a shot taken today from roughly the same position.
The original shot dates from 1932 and features Westmoreland Street and Mowbray Square, when the square still had a garden and trees.
The square now surrounds a relatively modern building, a former car showroom which is currently occupied by a large community church. The older buildings are still clearly recognisable, though probably many of the small shops have changed use several times in the past 85 years.
