History (Again)

It was an eventful day.

I worked until 11:30, then caught the train to Edinburgh and from there another train on the Borders Railway to its terminus at Tweedbank (close to Melrose). The railway was re-opened in September 2015 after being closed in 1969.

It’s the longest new stretch of railway opened in the UK for 100 years.

My travels worked perfectly (both directions).

Abbotsford - the last home of the novelist (and poet and lawyer) Walter Scott - is 1.5 miles from Tweedbank Station so I walked over there and spent an enjoyable couple of hours. I got a Blip too.
