Light and Shadows

Sometimes a familiar path suddenly takes a tragic turning. It is heartbreaking that yet another city, this time Manchester, is dealing with a callous and incomprehensible attack on its citizens. 

There are no words left other than to say that many stand beside you in your shock and grief. We stand in admiration for the way your ordinary citizens came together to help the frightened and the injured. We stand in support of those who are grieving this night for their children, their friends and their loved ones, and in disbelief that anyone could perpetrate such an evil attack on innocent people. 

We are unable to prevent such attacks for the very reason of our disbelief and our basic decency.  We can only stand together, grieve together and protect each other in our shared values. We cannot allow ourselves to become the enemy.
